Aleah Hockin
Aleah Hockin is a backcountry snowmobile guide and coach. She started Savage Sledderz to help empower women in the backcountry, whether to hone snowmobiling skills or just help women feel more confident shuttling skiers and boarders. Aleah is CPR, first-aid, and Avy I certified. She is available for group or individual coaching or just a guided ride.
Aleah has worked as a backcountry guide for numerous winters guiding mostly men. She has been a backcountry rider for over 20 years. Believing in the number of women in the sport and the gender communication gap, Aleah saw a need to create a safe, fun, empowering environment for women to progress their snowmobiling skills. Aleah coaches women on how to become confident, comfortable, and competent in the backcountry.

Snowmobile Adventures
We have access to a vast array of riding areas with multiple trailheads to choose from. The trail conditions, weather conditions, and riding level of the participants will determine which one we choose.
We do not rent snowmobiles to non-Savage Sledderz clients. We have the rental snowmobiles specifically for our clients that do not own one.
Our Snowmobile Adventures are based out of Craig and Yampa, CO. We have permits with Routt National Forest with access from Moffat County Colorado and Routt County Colorado. We have permits North and South of Hayden so there’s a good chance one of our two mountain ranges got hit with fresh snow out of the last storm system. Long story short we have untouched powder!!!
Absolutely you can bring your own snowmobile when booking any one of our Adventures. We offer high performance mountain sleds from SkiDoo for those clients that do not have their own snowmobiles to use.
Our Guided Tours package includes a full day of guiding. The riding will be on groomed trails, open meadows, and/or hillside riding depending on the rider’s skill level.
Our Riding Clinics package includes a full day of instruction from one of our instructors. You will learn new snowmobile riding techniques to help you maneuver and control your 450+ lb machine.
Our Snowmobile Adventures start at 8:00 a.m. and run until 4:00 p.m. Adjustments can be made inside of those timeframes as needed.
Snowmobile Rentals
We accept all levels or riding abilities. Regardless if this is your first snowmobile ride or you’ve been riding for 3o years, we accommodate our guiding and instruction to meet your desires.
We can provide helmets, shovel, beacon, probe, and avalanche bags upon request. All other outerwear is the responsibility of the customer.

We have access to a vast riding area with multiple trailheads to choose from which will based on the trail conditions, weather conditions, and riding level of the participants. We will determine the meeting location up to 12 hours in advance of your reservation. Please make sure your vehicle is equipped with 4-wheel drive and snow tires to navigate snow packed roads.
If needed, we can provide transportation for your time with us. Yampa Valley Regional Airport is about 5 minutes from Hayden. We can pick you up there, transport you to your lodging location, and get your around town for your Snowmobile Adventures with us.

You must be at least 18 years old to rent one of our SkiDoo Summit mountain snowmobiles.

Things to Take With You
- Your normal riding gear
- Polypropylene or wool long underwear and ski socks (no cotton)
- Comfortable mid-layers (no cotton)
- Waterproof and windproof outer layers
- 2 pairs of goggles
- 2 pairs of warm, waterproof gloves
- Helmets are required and can be provided free of charge
- Warm, waterproof snow boots
- Balaclava or face mask
- Avalanche Gear - Shovel, Beacon, Probe
- Avalanche Bag is recommended but not required
- Water and food/snacks

Savage Sledderz Policies
Savage Sledderz is committed to providing the highest quality guided snowmobile tours, riding clinics, and avalanche education trainings. In the event you are not satisfied with your service or need to re-schedule, this refund policy explains when we may consider a refund.
Deposit
Refund
We WILL NOT give a refund on a booked snowmobile adventure and/or rental. If there are complications with your booked snowmobile adventure and/or rental, we will be happy to reschedule your booking. See the acceptable reasons for rescheduling below. You may choose to leave the snowmobile adventure at any time by giving written notice to your guide or instructor. However, you WILL NOT be entitled to a refund and Savage Sledderz will not be liable for any loss or damage you incur as a consequence of leaving the snowmobile adventure.
Weather
Unless a blizzard type situation would occur that would make riding legally irresponsible due to safety, our snowmobile adventures proceed in most all weather. In the event of the unsafe weather conditions, our snowmobile adventures are rescheduled for another mutually convenient date at no additional charge. In this situation, Savage Sledderz will contact you the day prior or the morning of the scheduled snowmobile adventure if a re-scheduling is required due to weather.
Acceptable Rescheduling
- 72+ hour notice in writing (e-mail) or by phone and the reason is due to the weather, illness, or family emergency.
- Blizzard or other weather situations that don't allow for safe travel in the mountains.
Booking Conditions
- You agree to NOT MAKE CLAIM against Savage Sledderz for any loss suffered due to a cancellation.
- Your desposit for your snowmobile adventure and/or rental is NONREFUNDABLE, but your adventure can be rescheduled.
- If you are booking and making payment via the internet, your payment method in your responsibility.
- Unless other arrangements are made with Savage Sledderz, you will provide your own transportation to the trailhead.
